May 19, 2009, 8:57:36 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs and the YMCA of Greater Kansas City are joining forces to re-launch the Junior Chiefs Cheerleader Program, the club announced on Monday.

New for 2009, the program offers girls ages three to 17 instruction from the Chiefs Cheerleaders on dance techniques, life skills and teamwork. The curriculum will include three age groups: Angels (3-5), Juniors (6-12) and Teens (13-17), and will conclude with a halftime performance during the Chiefs game vs. Pittsburgh (11/22) at Arrowhead Stadium.

The YMCA’s partnership with the Chiefs has brought monthly practice locations closer to home and made the program more affordable. For details on registration, participating YMCA locations and practice schedules visit www.kcchiefs.com/cheerleaders/junior_chiefs/.
